ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Goals


The Post-Graduate Program in Production Engineering has the following objectives:

  • Train human resources with competence in scientific and technological research (R & D) and teaching in Production Engineering and related areas;
  • To promote the integration of the University with the companies of the region, favoring the creation and diffusion of technological innovations, the sharing of human and material resources, and also favoring the incorporation and consolidation of contemporary technology;
  • Contribute to the growth of the technological level of the productive sector, seeking to identify and stimulate regional and sectoral vocations, enabling the formation of an increasing number of professionals with competence to introduce scientific and technological treatment in the solution of industrial problems;
  • Advise business, trade union, governmental and other organizations on the process of technological modernization.

 

 
 
 

CURRICULAR STRUCTURE

Curricular structure of the Doctoral Program


The Doctoral degree provides 60 credits, and 30 credits can be availed of the Master course, the other should be completed 24-48 months, also being possible extension of up to 6 months.

Credits can be met as follows:

7 subjects: total of 21 credits;

Supervised by 1 Activity: 03 credits.

This activity is indicated by the advising professor and evaluated according to the rules of the program, for its consolidation;

Thesis: 09 credits

With written presentation in the form of thesis and public defense work before  the examining board. The student must demonstrate mastery on the subject of the thesis.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

Art. 1 The PNPD aims:

I - promote the realization of high-level studies;

II - strengthen national research groups;

III - renew the frames in the Graduate Program in higher education and research institutions;

IV - promote the inclusion of Brazilian and foreign researchers in postdoctoral stage, encouraging its integration with research projects developed by the Graduate Programs in the country.
